Initial Consultations Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to allow us to complete your pets medical chart. An Ophthalmology technician will call you back into the exam room. The technicians will ask you lots of questions about your pet's history and will do a glaucoma screening test and a tear production test on your pet. Both of these test are very routine and are completely noninvasive. Then Dr. Rainbow will join you in the exam room and will do a thorough evaluation of the cornea, lens and retina. Further diagnostics may be recommended upon the initial examination. Please allow 1 hour to complete an initial exam. Recheck Appointments Recheck appointments allow the Doctor to monitor your pet's progress. The tear test and glaucoma screenings may be repeated if necessary. Please allow 15-30 minutes for a recheck visit. Diagnostics The following diagnostics can be utilized for your pet: - Electroretinogram- tests the electrical function of the retina. Necessary for cataract surgeries and retinal problems.
- Ultrasound- ocular and abdominal
- CT scan
- Blood pressure monitoring
