Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy allows the doctor to evaluate disease processes of the large intestine (colon), and rectum. This process is recommended for animals that have chronic diarrhea, straining to defecate, and/or blood in their stools. The animal will need to be fasted for 24-48 hours and receive numerous enemas before the procedure. A colonoscopy requires the animal be under general anesthesia.
