Critical Care Services
|
The critical care service team focuses on the diagnosis and management of critically ill patients. Many injuries and medical diseases can become quite complicated in a relatively short period of time. Surgical patients also need close observation to ensure full recovery from the aneshesia. Our intensive care unit (ICU) monitors your pet's vital signs that include but are not limited to heart rhythm, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and electrolyte/sugar levels. By identifying problems early, changes in your pet's treatment can be made preventing subsequential complications. Just a few examples of illnesses addressed by this service include congestive heart failure, pneumonia, uncontrolled diabetics, traumatic injuries, heat stroke, burns, seizures, meningitis, head trauma, and intoxications. Intravenous fluid therapy, nutritional support, blood component therapy, oxygen supplementation, and pain relief are just some of the treatments utilized to ensure the best opportunity for recovery. Our responsive and compassionate nursing staff ensures that your pet is comfortable and well cared for during their hospital stay. |
