Aquatic therapy: utilizes an underwater treadmill that allows work on ambulatory skills with the benefit of reduced weight bearing. | | | Proprioception analysis and therapy: proprioception is the ability to recognize the position of the joints at rest and during movement. This therapy involves various exercises that improve balance and stability. | | | Gait Training: involves assisted ambulation with slings and towels in patients unable to walk independently. Also includes slow leash walks, stairs, and treadmill exercises in ambulatory patients that need assistance. | | | Therapeutic ultrasound: this treatment modality uses high frequency sound waves that produce heat. The goal is to increase range of motion in injured joints and muscles. | | | Massage: the manipulation of the soft tissues (muscle) of the body to decrease pain and increase range of motion. | | | Hot/cryo therapy: therapeutic application of heat and/or cold (ice) to improve range of motion and flexibility. | | | Therapeutic exercise: a wide range of activities designed to increase strength, flexibility, range of motion, and increase the body’s total functional capacity. | | | Also, during your pet’s rehabilitation we will evaluate and monitor their muscle girth, active range of motion, body composition, and gait. |
